SJX SportJet Powered All welded Xtreme Low Water Craft for Military, Law Enforcement, Commercial, or Recreational Applications

The 2172 SJX is a tunnel hull jet boat capable of extreme low water operations utilizing speed, ultra maneuverability, and survivability for a variety of applications. Endless applications for military, law enforcement and Search and Rescue operations. Ideal for hunting and fishing or as a dive platform make it an ideal recreational vessel. The SJX is an all welded construction craft (no skip welding as is common on other boats) and with 3/8” chemically bonded Ocean Poly UHMW bottom protection the SJX is an extremely rugged vessel ideal for shallow water pursuit, patrol, rapid response situations where water depth may limit other types of water craft with inboard or outboard power.

The SJX All Terrain Vessel

The SJX may be used for armed escort, direct fire support, intercept, and scout/patrol riverine type operations with bullet resistant floatation collars and light armor options. The SJX may be configured to employ various military and commercial communications and electronics. The three windshield console configuration offers protection from elements. Enclosure options exist from the popular Navy folding top to fixed frame complete enclosures. Heaters may be installed. The SJX come standard with ramps for on/off loading ATV’s from the front cargo area.

 Two inch receiver sockets installed in the bow and transom accommodate a portable winch and or wheel kit for self rescue off of shoals if grounded or through terrain where vehicles are not available.

The SJX are fast, aluminum tunnel hulled craft powered by a single Mercury Optimax 200HP DFI SportJet. Although they can operate like an air boat in shallow water, they have distinct advantages in that they can stop on a dime, backup and with custom tuned mufflers are far quieter.  

The SJX is made to optimize the power to weight utilizing marine grade materials precision cut to CAD specifications then continuously welded construction assures a solid feeling and handling boat. The stringers are rolled (vs cut and bent as is common in the marine industry) and continuously welded which assures the boat is both rugged and the load is better mechanically distributed minimizing stress points and eliminating cracked welds.  The wide 6 ft bottom, seven degree V and dead rise enable the SJX to carry heavy loads in extreme low water conditions. The 7 degree flare enables the SJX to handle exceptionally well in seas less than three feet.

SJX Low Water Performance

Exposed gravel shoals are no match for the SJX either which are easily slid over with adequate speed. There’s little reduction in forward progress due to the optional low friction Ocean Ploy UHMW bottom protection. The low slung design and fold down windshield allow the craft to navigate low bridges fowled areas with hanging debris and sweepers. May be militarized with side pintles and/or bow mount Mk16 tripod. 

The SJX was designed to support commercial/construction / operations or remote hunting expeditions in Alaska’s shallow interior rivers where debris and seasonal conditions result in unpredictable, dangerous and changing conditions. A robust design utility boat capable of carrying a tremendous payload far up river out of the reach of ordinary craft was required.

The SJX is easily trailered and launched and recovered by a single individual. Note: The SJX is designed for transport in a standard 53? ISO containers!
